The traditional territories map presented below was created by images produced through Native Land Digital is a Canadian not-for-profit organization, incorporated in December 2018. It is Indigenous-led, with an Indigenous Executive Director and Board of Directors who oversee and direct the organization. Numerous non-Indigenous people also contribute as members of our Advisory Council. Check out the link to the right. It’s phenomenal.

Acknowledging territory is a small part of cultivating strong relationships with the First Peoples of Canada:
Acknowledging territory shows recognition of and respect for Aboriginal Peoples.
It is recognition of their presence both in the past and the present.
Territorial acknowledgements should not simply be a pro forma statement made before getting on with the real business of the meeting; they must be understood as a vital part of the business.
