Our Changing World.

Alberta Ballet has an ambitious new vision to enhance our impact province-wide.

Over the last few years, Alberta Ballet's revenue relied on single ticket sales and tuition. We lived hand-to-mouth to repair the financial fallout from our 2013-14 fiscal crisis. We added more productions to our season and more shows per production. We improved both our finances and key stakeholder relationships. With dedication and commitment, we rebuilt Alberta Ballet’s financial success.

However, when COVID-19 shut down large gatherings, our blind spot was clear: single ticket sales don’t translate to robust community support. Our donors were good to us, but without the government wage subsidy, we would have had a very difficult time paying our bills or our payroll.

So, we launched a new strategic plan—one that focuses on community development and one where our values drive our business. We believe that being in the business of delivering public good will generate more loyalty among many more people throughout the province. This means we can again fulfill our provincial mandate, reaching more Alberta communities and compel prospective donors across the province to give.
